The complete Weekes Family Tree PDF requires Adobe Reader on your computer. This can be downloaded for free from the following site.
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
The family tree file is about 90K, and over a slow line may take so long to download that Acrobat Reader gives up. It may help to reconfigure Acrobat to run outside your browser, rather than inside the browser. To set this up, do the following:
For Acrobat 4:
- Open a PDF document in Acrobat.
- Click File > Preferences > General.
- In the list of Preferences click Options.
- Unclick Web Browser Integration.
For Acrobat 5:
- Open a PDF document in Acrobat.
- Click Edit > Preferences.
- In the list of Preferences click Options.
- Unclick the very first check box Display PDF in Browser.
This should cause the Family Tree files to open in Reader outside of your browser. The performance should be faster, so the download has a better chance of success. Once you have it loaded, you can save it to your local drive, and then you can open the family tree locally. Explore the zoom tools in Acrobat to see the file in a readable size.
The smaller branch files are portions of the family tree, each about 45K, so are smaller and faster to load. These pages are sized so that they will each print on a single piece of paper.
