The very existence of John, son of Joseph and Jane Weekes is in question. We know for certain of the existence of all of the other children (Joseph Jr., Edward Fullerton, Charlotte (Conerty), Alexander F., James and one other daughter (Anne?)), but there are so far no records confirming the life of John.

The obituary of James Weekes (presumed brother) describes his immigration from Ireland with his parents, two brothers and two sisters around 1844. Presumably this was siblings Edward, Alexander, Charlotte and one other sister. There has been speculation that our John might be the John Weekes from the Cardinal area, but there is no reasonable, deterministic evidence for this.

Initially, John's existence was inferred from hand-written notes and conversation, but no other sources have since been found. We are preserving this record here, in case new evidence arises. In the meantime, we can only be confident about the lives of Joseph's documented six children.
